Coffee recipes for every season

Updated: Feb 11, 2020

They say a good relationship should make you feel strong, productive and able to take over the world. This is how I can describe my relationship with ... coffee!

Our love has started many years ago and it feels like it's just getting better and better :)

Recently I'm a lucky owner of a new De'longhi coffee machine, which lets you do all the fun part.. it's not anymore one button to press and coffee comes out, this one makes you feel that you matter :p cause there are so many aspects in preparing a coffee, that I never really thought about before..

So I'm slowly turning into a coffee master, at least I think I am...hehe ;)

But this is not what I'm planning to write here about..

I want to share with you my favourite coffee drinks for every season.

Let's start with:

AUTUMN

Who is a fan of Pumpkin Spice Latte? Starbucks has made it so popular, that I decided to make it myself at home and honestly it's even better than at their place!

150 ml of milk

4 tbsp of pure pumpkin puree

1 or 2 tbsp of sugar (depending on how sweet you want it)

1/2 tsp pumpkin spice blend (you can easily make it yourself, just use these proportions

2 parts cinnamon, 1 part ginger,

1/4 part each nutmeg and allspice)

2 drops of vanilla extract

2 espresso shots, I used my favourite coffee blend f

whip cream and cinnamon sticks (for garnish)

WINTER

Cafe Mocha with marshmallows

I don't know about you, but for me a perfect winter afternoon is:

me, blanket and a hot drink.. preferable with coffeine :)

So this is just ideal for a cold day in Christmas time. When everything smells like cocoa and cinnamon.

Ingredients:

2 espresso shot

150 ml of milk (or any milk substitutes)

1,5 tbsp of cocoa powder (unsweetened)

1 tsp of agave syrup or honey

20 little mashmallows (or more, since you might be snacking, while preparing this drink... )

Heat up the milk and whisk in cocoa powder. Mix well. Pour into a jar, add agave syrup and espresso shots. Decorate with marshmallows and ready to jump under the blanket :)

SPRING

When the first sunny days hit us after a long winter, it always feels like we got our lives back! We are finally ready to get out from the winter shelter (aka fluffy blanket)! And there is nothing better to celebrate the end of winter with than a scoop of ice cream! And if you could combine ice cream and coffee? I would say it's a dream!

in fact Italians have already created it many years ago and it's called

Affogato al caffe

(which in italian means drowned in coffee)

It's the easiest thing possible.

Make an espresso and add a scoop of vanilla ice. You can top it up with cream if you feel like it and cheers to warm days!

SUMMER

And here we are! The best part of the year, when all you want to do is lay on the sun and sip your ice coffee.

Especially when it's made the way I like it! :)

Iced Coconut Coffee

First thing you need to do is:

Prepare around 250 ml of Americano coffee. Pour into the ice cube trays and freeze for 2-3 hours.

Put as many ice cubes as you can fit in the glass and pour coconut milk to fill it up.

This way, you can enjoy the strong taste of your iced coffee until your last sip and not like with regular ice cubes when they melt they make the drink watery and light.

I hope you will try at least one of the recipes :) and please, don't hesitate to write me how you liked it ... or not.. :P

Wishing you all a lovely day!

xxx
